Do Alpacas get on with other animals?

Yes, they will mix easily with other animals, it is largely up to the temperament of the other animals.  Alpacas have been run with horses or donkeys, sheep, goats, cows and poultry.  In they will generally see off foxes and wild dogs by a combination of screeching and strength of numbers.  If an unwise fox insists on maintaining its grip on a lamb or cria the alpacas have been known to surround and trample on it.  However alpacas can be managed be 'polite' sheep dogs and can become accustomed to dogs that are household pets.  They have been known to scare off or attack foxes that are after free-ranging hens, ducks or geese, provided they are in the same field.
